About Me
In the summer of 2007, I was diagnosed with an advanced case of Lyme’s disease. My body changed drastically. Throughout my entire life I was always naturally strong and athletic, but Lyme’s disease changed that. In a short 2-month span, I dropped 25 pounds. I was bedridden for a month with both knees swollen, unable to do any physical activity. Eventually I recovered, just before starting my senior year of high school. I was still greatly underweight and suffering extreme muscle atrophy. It took over a year of careful exercising and a closely-monitored diet before regaining my muscle tone and endurance.
Today, as a sophomore in college, I’ve intensified my efforts to stay healthy. I exercise daily with a mix of cardio and weights, and I’m back to a healthy weight.
I started WorkoutYou.info as a place to document the techniques and cost-saving measures I’ve discovered during my recovery and daily exercise plan. Specifically:
· Low-cost workouts. As a college student, I have a strict budget, so I’ve found creative ways to work out while minimizing what I spend on equipment.
· Efficient eating. It’s all too easy to get into bad eating habits, especially when in college or at a desk job. I have several tips for eating healthy, while keeping an eye on costs (and taste!).
· Exercise planning. It’s hard enough to find time to work out. A workout schedule is key to getting maximum results from all that hard work. I found some techniques that have worked well for me, and I share those here.
I hope that the information I share helps others looking to stay healthy in the most time-efficient and cost-efficient ways.
